Mansinthe?
What does Switzerland, Marilyn Manson, and absinthe have in common? A lot it seems. Check it.

The business side of modern piracy.
We have all been hearing about the increases of piracy around the world. The picture on this post is a UN compiled map showing the details of both acts of piracy and the global responses, its pretty well made. The article I would like to highlight is from the BBC news magazine. It focuses on the 'legitimate' side of dealing with these issues. Its a great article, check it out.

Afghan-erection!
This story struck me as very interesting. I think the headline says it all. Gotta love the CIA, they are a creative bunch.

Minneapolis Jihad?
20 Minnesotan Somalis are under suspicion of fleeing their family's in the states to return to their homeland to fight for Islamic groups. The FBI has gotten involved and there is alot of concern at the state and local governments. I for one don't think this is a precursor to Al Qaeda style attacks in Minneapolis, it looks more like people who are nationalists intending to fighting for their homeland, but what do I know. Here is an article from Newsweek that highlights this under the radar issue.

Smokers bane. Well, the newest bane.
How many of you smokers out there have noticed the change that occurred last December? Well that is when Minnesota changed laws to mandate the new 'fire-safe cig's'. As a smoker I can say that not only do they taste like shit but also are very frustrating. I for one don't enjoy lighting my cig 2 or 3 times per smoke. These laws have been spreading around the country and, like public smoking, will move like wild fire. This article talks about the ins and outs of these laws, focus on the lack of data that supports the idea that these things will save lives and stop fires.
MSNBC
I also find some issue with the government putting MORE chemicals in cigs. STOP THE SMOKER HATE! Please. If this bothers you as much as it does me then consider this meaningless petition below.
